Building a
Sustainable Future

SACO is committed to responsible, sustainable manufacturing across all our aluminium production processes. As an EcoVadis Bronze–certified business, we follow environmentally responsible policies and actively measure and reduce our carbon footprint across environment, labour, ethics and sustainable procurement, where possible and on an ongoing basis.

Initiatives

Recycled Scrap Aluminium

Aluminium scrap generated in our manufacturing process is responsibly collected and recycled. Up to 18.1% of the recycled material is combined with new and reintegrated back into our product production – ensuring a closed-loop process that reduces waste and supports a more sustainable packaging lifecycle.

Initiatives

Repurposed Nitrates Waste

During the aluminium anodising process, waste nitrates are a natural by-product. Instead of disposing of this material, we work with specialist recycling partners to repurpose the nitrate-rich powder for industrial applications such as cement, construction fillers, ceramics, tiles, R&D materials and soil stabilization. This reduces the demand for virgin materials and supports more sustainable, circular manufacturing.

Phosphates Liquid Waste

Our phosphate waste from the anodising process is treated through a controlled effluent treatment system that neutralises phosphate with calcium hydroxide to form calcium phosphate filtercake. Monitoring of rinse, balancing and reaction tanks ensures a consistent waste stream, supporting efficient phosphate waste treatment and compliance. The recovered material is reused in construction, land remediation, solar and agriculture, supporting

Solar Panel Installation

Work has successfully been completed for the installation of solar panels at our SACO
manufacturing facility, marking a significant milestone in our sustainability journey. The new solar energy system is expected to significantly reduce the site’s energy consumption , substantially lowering the carbon footprint.
